A monumental memorial to the heroic Partisan defense against the German offensive of 1944.
The Battle of Mačkov Kamen was fought on 9–10 February 1944.
The Battle
A group of 130 Partisans defended themselves against more than 12,000 German soldiers during the Sixth Enemy Offensive.
Casualties
122 Partisans, who fought to the last bullet, were killed. Only 8 managed to break through.
Memorial
A monumental memorial was erected in 1971. It preserves the names of all the fallen fighters.
