The Gudovac Massacre 1941

An Ustaša massacre of the Serbian population in Slavonia.

In the village of Gudovac near Bjelovar, the Ustaša carried out one of the first mass massacres.

The crime

On the night of 28 to 29 April 1941, the Ustaša killed more than 180 Serbian civilians.

Methods

People were slaughtered, killed with stakes, and thrown into wells. Among the victims were the elderly, women and children.

Memorial

A monument to the victims has been erected.
