The Visoki Dečani Monastery was founded by King Stefan Dečanski in 1327.
Architecture
A combination of Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. Built of yellow-and-pink marble.
Frescoes
It contains over 1,000 square metres of frescoes – the largest preserved fresco ensemble from the Middle Ages.
UNESCO
Under UNESCO protection as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
