The Executions at Jajinci

The largest execution site in occupied Serbia - around 80,000 shot.

Jajinci near Belgrade was the main site for the execution of prisoners during the German occupation of Serbia.

Scale

Between 1941 and 1944, an estimated 70,000-80,000 people were shot at Jajinci - communists, patriots, Jews, Roma and hostages.

Reprisals

The Germans applied the rule: 100 Serbs for every German killed, 50 Serbs for every German wounded. Mass shootings of hostages became a daily occurrence.

Remembrance

Today Jajinci is a memorial park with a monument and mass graves.
